André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra bring their touring production to Prague’s O2 Arena on Saturday, 8 May 2027, opening a stretch of Central European dates that continues through Poland and Germany later in the month. The concert starts at 20:00.
The Czech capital has a rich musical heritage of its own, and Prague audiences have shown a strong appetite for large-scale touring productions in recent years. Rieu’s mix of grand orchestral sound and warm, theatrical showmanship tends to draw visitors from across the region whenever the tour passes through.
Expect a programme that moves between sweeping Strauss waltzes, operatic highlights, popular film themes and well-loved classics, staged with the elaborate costumes, lighting design and theatrical flourishes that have become the production’s signature. Guest vocalists and instrumental soloists typically feature throughout the evening.
O2 Arena Prague opened in 2004 and remains the largest arena in the Czech Republic, with a concert capacity of up to 18,000. Since opening it has hosted everything from ice hockey to some of the biggest touring shows to pass through Central Europe.
Doors are expected to open roughly ninety minutes before the 20:00 start. The performance typically runs for about two and a half hours, including a 20-minute interval.
Prague itself remains one of Europe’s most visited cities, and its historic centre, castle and bridges make an easy add-on for anyone travelling in specifically for the concert.
The Prague date opens a busy run through the region, with the tour continuing to Gdańsk on 12 May and Gliwice on 14 May before moving further into Poland and Germany later in the month.
