André Rieu returns to his hometown stage on Thursday, 8 July 2027, opening this stretch of summer concerts on Maastricht’s historic Vrijthof square. Doors open with the show beginning at 19:00, as the square is once again transformed into an open-air concert hall for the occasion.
Few artists have a relationship with their home city quite like Rieu’s connection to Maastricht. His summer concerts on the Vrijthof have become an annual tradition drawing well over 100,000 visitors across the full run of dates each year, with fans travelling from dozens of countries to see the show performed on the square where it all began.

Het Vrijthof, one of the most atmospheric squares in the Netherlands, is transformed each summer into a temporary open-air venue holding around 10,000 to 12,000 spectators, surrounded by the historic churches and buildings that give the setting its unmistakable character.
With an outdoor summer evening show, arriving in good time is worth it simply to take in the atmosphere of the square before the performance begins at 19:00. Shows typically run for about two and a half hours, including a short interval.
