Frankfurt am Main, 18/11/2027

Frankfurt, prepare for an extraordinary evening where timeless Viennese waltzes meet the elegance of one of Germany’s most historic concert venues — on Thursday, 18 November 2027, André Rieu and his world-renowned Johann Strauss Orchestra will return to Festhalle Frankfurt for a spectacular performance. Beginning at 19:00, the concert promises a memorable celebration of music, romance and orchestral grandeur, bringing the unmistakable charm of the “King of the Waltz” back to the heart of Germany’s financial capital.

The announcement marks another chapter in André Rieu’s relationship with audiences in Frankfurt and the surrounding Rhine-Main region. The Dutch violinist and conductor has developed an enthusiastic following across Germany, where his distinctive combination of classical music, theatrical entertainment and genuine warmth continues to attract music lovers of every generation.

Accompanied by his celebrated Johann Strauss Orchestra, talented soloists and special guests, André Rieu will present a colourful musical programme featuring romantic Viennese waltzes, beloved classical masterpieces, opera favourites, memorable film music and popular melodies. Beautiful costumes, elaborate scenery and atmospheric lighting will add a theatrical dimension to the performance, creating an evening that feels far removed from a traditional formal classical concert.

The setting for this special evening is Festhalle Frankfurt, one of Germany’s most recognisable historic indoor venues. Opened in 1909, the magnificent building is famous for its impressive domed roof and grand architectural design. Located within the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds, Festhalle has welcomed generations of internationally celebrated performers, major cultural events and large-scale entertainment productions.

Unlike many modern arenas, Festhalle Frankfurt possesses a distinctive architectural character that adds another layer of atmosphere to live performances. Its enormous dome and elegant interior provide a dramatic backdrop for André Rieu’s orchestra, bringing together the grandeur of a historic European concert hall and the excitement of a contemporary international touring production.

Frankfurt itself has a rich musical and cultural history, making it a fitting destination for an artist who celebrates the enduring beauty of orchestral music. The city is home to the renowned Alte Oper and numerous cultural institutions, while its combination of historic architecture and modern skyscrapers creates one of Germany’s most distinctive urban landscapes.

For André Rieu, however, the true magic of every concert lies in the connection between the musicians and their audience. A delicate violin melody can create a moment of quiet emotion, while the familiar rhythm of a Strauss waltz can suddenly have thousands of spectators smiling, clapping and swaying together. His natural humour and relaxed interaction with the audience make even the grandest venues feel surprisingly personal.

The 18 November 2027 Frankfurt concert begins a busy three-night sequence on André Rieu’s German tour. Following Thursday’s performance at Festhalle, the orchestra will travel to Rudolf Weber-ARENA in Oberhausen on Friday, 19 November, before continuing to LANXESS Arena in Cologne on Saturday, 20 November. These consecutive concerts offer audiences across western Germany several opportunities to experience the maestro’s latest touring production.

For visitors travelling from elsewhere in Germany or abroad, the Frankfurt performance also provides an excellent opportunity to explore the city. Concertgoers can spend the afternoon discovering the historic Römerberg square, walking along the River Main or enjoying the cafés and restaurants around the city centre before heading to Festhalle for the evening performance.

The venue’s location makes it particularly convenient for visitors arriving by public transport. Frankfurt Central Station is nearby, while the Festhalle/Messe underground and tram stops provide connections to the wider city. Eventim also notes that tickets for public events at Festhalle generally include access to regional public transport within the RMV network, subject to the applicable ticket conditions.

André Rieu remains one of the world’s most successful touring classical musicians, with more than 40 million albums sold worldwide and hundreds of thousands of concertgoers attending his performances annually. His enduring popularity reflects his ability to make orchestral music accessible, emotional and entertaining without losing the elegance and musical excellence that have defined his career.

The Frankfurt performance promises all the elements that have made Rieu’s concerts famous: sweeping waltzes, beautiful violin solos, powerful orchestral arrangements and moments of humour and celebration. Whether experiencing the Johann Strauss Orchestra for the first time or returning for another memorable evening, audiences can look forward to a concert filled with warmth and musical excitement.
