Birmingham, prepare for a spectacular Saturday evening where timeless waltzes, beautiful melodies and the joy of live music come together — on 25 September 2027, André Rieu and his world-renowned Johann Strauss Orchestra will return to bp pulse LIVE for an unforgettable concert in the heart of England. Beginning at 19:30, this eagerly anticipated performance promises a colourful celebration of romance, orchestral elegance and theatrical entertainment, bringing the unmistakable charm of the “King of the Waltz” back to the West Midlands.

The concert marks another chapter in André Rieu’s long-standing relationship with audiences in Birmingham. Having performed in the city on previous UK tours, the Dutch violinist and conductor has developed a loyal following among music lovers who appreciate his unique ability to transform classical concerts into joyful celebrations. His September 2027 return offers another opportunity to experience the extraordinary atmosphere that has made the Johann Strauss Orchestra famous around the world.

Accompanied by his magnificent 70-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, a choir and outstanding soloists, André Rieu will present a wonderfully varied programme featuring romantic Viennese waltzes, beloved classical masterpieces, emotional ballads and memorable music from opera, musicals and films. Elaborate costumes, beautiful stage scenery and spectacular lighting will add a theatrical dimension to the performance, creating an evening designed to entertain and inspire audiences of every generation.

The setting for this special concert will be bp pulse LIVE, one of the Midlands’ leading indoor entertainment venues. Formerly known as Resorts World Arena, the venue is located within the National Exhibition Centre complex near Birmingham Airport. With a maximum capacity of approximately 15,600 spectators, it regularly welcomes major international artists and large-scale productions, making it particularly well suited to the grandeur of André Rieu’s orchestral performances.

The arena’s location provides excellent connections for visitors travelling from across the United Kingdom. Birmingham International railway station serves the NEC complex, while Birmingham Airport is also nearby. For concertgoers arriving by car, the venue offers extensive parking facilities, with advance booking recommended for major events.

For André Rieu, however, the most important part of every concert is the connection between the musicians and their audience. His performances are famous for transforming enormous arenas into places of warmth and togetherness. A delicate violin solo can create a moment of quiet emotion, while the opening notes of a familiar Strauss waltz can suddenly have thousands of people smiling, clapping and swaying together.

The 25 September 2027 Birmingham concert completes a busy three-night sequence on André Rieu’s UK tour. Following performances at OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Thursday, 23 September and Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on Friday, 24 September, the orchestra will arrive in Birmingham for Saturday’s performance. The tour will then resume in October with concerts in Newcastle, Liverpool and Leeds.

Birmingham itself provides an attractive destination for a memorable concert weekend. Visitors travelling from elsewhere in the Midlands or further afield can combine the performance with time exploring the city’s cultural attractions, restaurants and shopping districts. The nearby Resorts World Birmingham complex also offers dining and leisure opportunities close to the arena, making it convenient to enjoy an evening out before the concert.

André Rieu remains one of the world’s most successful touring classical musicians, with more than 40 million albums sold worldwide and hundreds of thousands of concertgoers attending his performances annually. His remarkable international following reflects his ability to make orchestral music accessible, emotional and entertaining without losing the elegance and musical excellence that have defined his career.

The Birmingham performance promises all the elements that have made Rieu’s concerts so popular: sweeping waltzes, romantic violin solos, powerful orchestral arrangements and moments of humour and celebration. Whether listening quietly to a beautiful melody or joining thousands of fellow spectators in applause, audiences can expect an evening that feels both grand and wonderfully personal.
