Kaunas, prepare for an unforgettable evening of music, romance and celebration — on Wednesday, 2 June 2027, André Rieu and his world-renowned Johann Strauss Orchestra will return to Žalgirio Arena for a spectacular concert in the heart of Lithuania. Beginning at 19:30, the performance promises a colourful journey through beautiful waltzes, popular classics and emotional melodies, all presented with the warmth and theatrical flair that have made André Rieu one of the world’s most successful live performers.
Rieu’s return to Lithuania follows the enthusiastic reception he has received from audiences in Kaunas in previous years. The Dutch violinist and conductor has spoken warmly about his connection with the country, saying that Lithuania holds a special place in his heart and praising the warmth and enthusiasm of Lithuanian audiences.
Together with his celebrated Johann Strauss Orchestra, soloists and guest performers, André Rieu will present a wonderfully varied programme. Žalgirio Arena says audiences can expect music from opera and musicals, famous film compositions, traditional melodies, popular classics and, naturally, the waltzes that have become synonymous with Rieu’s concerts. Impressive costumes, grand stage scenery and atmospheric lighting will add to the spectacle.
The concert takes place at Žalgirio Arena, one of Lithuania’s leading venues for major concerts and international events. Situated beside the Nemunas River, the arena provides an impressive backdrop for André Rieu’s large-scale production, allowing thousands of spectators to experience both the delicate moments of his violin playing and the full power of the Johann Strauss Orchestra.
Although 2 June was the original Kaunas date, demand has been strong enough for another performance to be added on Tuesday, 1 June. Kaunas will therefore enjoy two consecutive evenings with André Rieu and his orchestra before the tour continues to Riga on 3 June and Helsinki on 5 June.
For visitors travelling from elsewhere in Lithuania or neighbouring countries, the concert is also an excellent reason to discover Kaunas in early summer. The city combines historic architecture with a lively cultural scene, pedestrian streets, cafés and riverside spaces, making it easy to build a short city break around the performance.
André Rieu’s concerts are about much more than simply listening to classical music. His ability to move effortlessly between romantic melodies, grand orchestral passages and moments of humour creates a relaxed atmosphere where audiences become part of the performance. A graceful waltz can turn an enormous arena into something surprisingly intimate, while the orchestra’s biggest numbers fill the venue with colour, energy and emotion.
The official Žalgirio Arena listing gives the concert a running time of approximately two and a half hours, including an interval of around 20 minutes. Doors open at 18:00, providing plenty of time for visitors to enter the arena before the 19:30 performance. Tickets are currently listed from €89.60, before the venue and ticketing fees specified by the arena.
With two Kaunas performances now scheduled, André Rieu’s return to Lithuania is shaping up to be one of the country’s major orchestral entertainment events of 2027. For fans, the 2 June concert offers another chance to experience the unmistakable combination of music, emotion and spectacle that continues to fill arenas around the world.
Whether you have followed André Rieu for decades or are preparing to see the Johann Strauss Orchestra for the first time, 2 June 2027 at Žalgirio Arena promises an evening filled with beautiful melodies, elegant waltzes and memorable moments shared with thousands of fellow music lovers.
