When André Rieu announced his return to Dublin in 2026, the news was met with immediate excitement from Irish audiences and international fans alike. Scheduled as two consecutive concerts in the Irish capital, these performances are among the most anticipated dates of the year and form an important part of his wider UK & Ireland tour.
For Dublin, a city with music woven deeply into its cultural identity, André Rieu’s visit is never just another concert. It is an event that blends classical elegance with warmth, celebration, and a uniquely communal atmosphere—qualities that resonate strongly with Irish audiences.
A Special Relationship Between André Rieu and Dublin
Dublin has long been known as a city that embraces live music with passion and sincerity. From traditional Irish sessions to international touring acts, audiences here are expressive, attentive, and deeply appreciative of artists who perform with heart. André Rieu’s concerts fit naturally into this tradition.
His performances are built on connection rather than formality. While rooted in classical music, Rieu’s approach removes barriers, inviting audiences to relax, smile, and share in the experience. This makes Dublin an especially fitting location for his concerts—where applause is generous, emotion is openly expressed, and music is treated as something to be lived rather than observed from a distance.
Concert Details: Dates and Venue
The two Dublin concerts in 2026 will take place at the city’s premier indoor venue:
Venue: 3Arena
Dates: April 2026 (two nights)
Located along the River Liffey, the 3Arena offers excellent acoustics, clear sightlines, and a layout that balances scale with intimacy. It is ideally suited to André Rieu’s production style, allowing the full sound of the Johann Strauss Orchestra to unfold while keeping the audience closely connected to the stage.
Having two nights scheduled also reflects the strong demand for Rieu’s performances in Ireland, giving more fans the opportunity to attend without the pressure of a single sell-out date.
What to Expect from the Dublin Concerts
An André Rieu concert follows a carefully crafted emotional journey, and the Dublin evenings in 2026 are expected to deliver that signature blend of elegance and joy.
A Beloved and Accessible Repertoire
Audiences can expect a programme that includes:
Famous Strauss waltzes such as The Blue Danube
Romantic orchestral pieces
Operatic highlights
Film music and international favourites
Light-hearted encore moments that often bring smiles and standing ovations
Each piece is presented with André Rieu’s characteristic warmth, often accompanied by gentle humour or personal remarks that make the evening feel welcoming and inclusive—even for first-time concertgoers.
Visual Elegance and Atmosphere
Beyond the music itself, Rieu’s concerts are known for their visual appeal. Elegant lighting, coordinated orchestral attire, and thoughtful staging contribute to an atmosphere that feels celebratory rather than formal. In a venue like the 3Arena, this visual dimension enhances the sense of occasion and shared experience.
Why Two Nights in Dublin Matter
Scheduling two concerts in Dublin is more than a logistical decision—it’s a reflection of the city’s importance on Rieu’s touring map. Irish audiences have consistently shown strong enthusiasm for his performances, often travelling from across the country to attend.
For many fans, these Dublin concerts become more than a single evening out. They turn into shared moments between generations: parents introducing children to orchestral music, couples making it a special night, or groups of friends gathering for a cultural highlight of the year.
As part of the broader UK & Ireland tour, the Dublin dates also serve as a bridge between audiences across regions, reinforcing the sense that Rieu’s concerts are communal celebrations rather than isolated performances.

My husband and I will be celebrating out 50th wedding anniversary at the Saturday night concert. We will be traveling to Dublin from Bedford, Texas to enjoy Andre’s music in an environment where we understand the language. Later this year we plan to attend one of his concerts in his hometown. We only learned of Andre’s music during the 2025 Christmas season when I was looking for seasonal music to enjoy while busy in the kitchen making favorite Christmas recipes. The uncle our son was named for owned a music store and gave him a violin for Christmas when he was four years old. I set about making sure he learned to appreciate the violin and the beautiful music that could be made on it by finding a precious music teacher even if he only learned the simplest music. She would accompany him with the piano & soon he not only was playing the violin but showed interest in the piano. I ask her if she could divide his 30 minute lesson for the violin & piano. Lifetime story short. He was the youngest member of the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra & toured China with the orchestra at age 13 & played throughout his studies at The University of Texas in Austin. His uncle made violins & several were sold from German music stores. He presented our son with a handmade violin at age 12 that he plays to today. Our son played a combination violin/piano concert at the Moudy Auditorium at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas at age 14…still with the same music teacher from age 4. Such a wonderful experience listening to him practice every evening while I made dinner. So you can understand how my husband & I were immediately smitten with Andre’s music & especially his sense of humor & interaction with the audience. Andre is 7 months younger than my husband, so we’re close in age.
Can you tell me if this is legitimate? If so, will we be hearing updates along with any cancellations in time for us to cancel hotel rooms, air flights, etc?
